Poetry: Rare Flower

There she stood…
a flower in a rocky field,
where nothing would grow.
This rare flower
was strength untold,
so proudly standing
to reach for a blue sky.
Absorbing the warm sunlight,
and digging her roots
into the firm ground.
She was strong
no matter what the world
told her, she couldn’t do.
She just went on growing
up in the glowing sun
and I realised then,
that life in its simplicity is brave.

  1. I was drawn to this by the picture of this precious child — and loved the poem as well. Thanks for following Oh, the Places We See. And best wishes for always being as creative as you are right now.
