Poetry: Silent Nudges

That instinctive silent nudging.

I fight—holding it back.

Shutting it down, so I don’t hear it.

That voice screaming…inside my head.

Listen to me-it says time after time.

You know it defies sensibility.

Choices need to be made.

Block the life of dreams,

or trust my inner voice to succeed

Do not silence it.
