Poetry: Painted Woods

image of deer in woods
Painted woods hide secrets.

Tall standing guardians.
Mirage of green, yellow, and brown,
Floating boats weave across the air.
Stealth small deer tip toes.
A branch cracks upon pressure.
Small ears perk listening.
A whispering fall breeze teases fingers.
Drifting boats.
Settle among pine needles.
