Poetry: Fishnet of Scars

Fishnet of Scars.

a free verse poetry… rhyming or non-rhyming… More about forms of poetry

I found you,
among the barnacles
and dead sea skeletons
in the dark sea of life.
Trapped in a
fishnet of scars
and weighted memories.
I swam to you,
luring you with bait,
backed by a smile
and laughter so contagious,
and that kind of sweetness
that you couldn’t resist,
setting you free.
You seemed to flounder
for awhile.
Unable to accept,
that life could offer promises
of love, so true and complete.
But over time, I saw a twinkle
in those baby blue eyes,
as they soften with
the reflection of me.
