Poetry: Writing on Walls…It Speaks

Writings on walls speak depths of struggles, pain, and the blood of prices to be paid. They’re just painted, but they speak. I wanted to bring out how sprayed graffiti is more through this Rictameter verse than just somebody defacing an old place. It says more. It carries the history of lives. Can you feel it through this digital piece and poetry?

It speaks.
Markings of the
decayed walls…Lettered scars.
Sprayed paint. Lost blood of silenced words.
Souls SCREAMING to be heard. Can you depict
words, hear its calling. Wanton of
something that can be so
given freely.
It speaks.

  1. Love this! I love graffiti so much. People don’t realize how much history graffiti holds, each abandoned building is a time capsule really! So many things to learn about the people that have lived before and society itself. Interesting stuff 😊
